Air Macau has consecutively created high record of passenger boarding since April this year. In June, the carrier reported carrying 174,956 passengers - up 17% against June of last year – again creating a new passenger boarding record for June; load factor for the month was 72%.
Total cargo uplifted for June 2005 was 9,915 tons, which was the highest record for the same period in Air Macau's history. Comparing with the cargo uplifted for the same period last year (7,736tons), there was an increment of 28.2%.
In June, the carrier worked very closely with Health Bureau, Macau SAR to promote Macau as a “Healthy City”. Partnering with the hotel industry in Macau, the carrier introduced attractive holiday packages for individual holidaymakers – in June alone, “Air Macau Holidays” sold nearly 1000 room-nights. Enriching the content of the holiday package, the carrier has reached an agreement with Sands to provide free buffet to visitors taking “Air Macau Holidays” .
Meeting the increasing travel demands in forthcoming summer holiday, Air Macau will operate inclusive charter flights to Busan in Korea, Siem Reap in Cambodia and Tokyo in Japan. Moreover, the carrier will introduce series of attractive holiday packages for families and students, particularly in the Inland of China, a special student exchange group package for student groups to visit Macau during the summer holiday.
Other than that, Air Macau is also working very hard coordinating with respective government departments and Macau International Airport to collectively get well prepared for the influx of tourists as a result of for PRC residents traveling to Taiwan in the future.
